tRITOn's Nutritious Algae

• Chlamydomonas reinhardtii is a single-cell green algae that is distributed worldwide. Additionally, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii has served as a model organism, with a flexible suite of synthetic biology tools: making it an ideal host to produce mammalian proteins, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, and hormones. Until recently, Chlamydomonas lacked an economic large scale production process and food safety record. Triton has eliminated the barriers to this host being a truly robust industrial powerhouse

Triton's algae comes in different colors allowing for expanded applications

Through an extensive screening process, Triton has identified strains of the species Chlamydomonas reinhardtii that are capable of growing yellow or green in stainless steel fermentation vessels. Both strains are packed with the same nutritious content; the only difference is that the yellow strain lacks chlorophyll. This difference in color dramatically expands the potential uses of Triton's algae as an ingredient in various product applications.

Total PRotein, Amino Acids, essential Oils, vitamins and minerals

Triton's algae is a great source of protein and more importantly essential amino acids. When compared to a traditional source of protein, soy bean, Triton's algae is superior and contains significantly more total protein, and essential amino acids such as lysine, methionine and tryptophan. Additionally, Triton's algae is loaded with omega oils, beta-carotene (Vitamin A), iron and calcium to supplement a healthy diet.
